How to Make an Inexpensive First Aid Kit
The weather is getting warmer and we find ourselves taking small trips with our kids. Boo boos can occur almost anywhere. As a mom and RN I have been able to inexpensively put together a small first aid kit for my family.
Keep in mind that this first aid kit fits the needs of my family and may not completely work for yours. If your family requires extra medications, please remember to pack them in this kit. This kit is not meant to to treat fevers or illness, rather:
- Abrasions (scratches),
- Cuts, Splinters
- Minor Burns
- Minor Allergic Reaction
- Strains or Sprains
Almost everyone will need to use a first aid kit at some point. Take the time to prepare a kit to have available for home and travel. A small compact first aid kit can be easily stored where ever you go. Some of these items you can gather from your home without running to the store.
Items you will need
- A small container or waterproof nylon bag
- Assorted Band-aids
- Small sealed alcohol wipes
- Small Scissor
- Small tube of triple antibiotic ointment
- Small Container of Hand sanitiezor or wipes
- Safety Pins
- You may want to pack a pair of gloves, but since this is for your family only I wouldn’t bother.
