YAY!!!!! Congratulations – Today must be a snow day?

Not only can playing in freshly fallen snow be filled with joy and laughter, but eating it can be just as fun.ย You will be surprised by how rich and creamy snow can taste with just some extra flavorings.

First thing, yes, you can make ice cream from freshly fallen snow. It is a lot easier than you might think. You just need a few simple ingredients to make it, and I bet you already have everything you need already. Sometimes you have to wait for the most important ingredient – the powdery snow.ย 

I should have added patience to the list of ingredients. You can also keep a keen eye on that weather app you have handy. I think you would not want to take snow that has been on the grown long enough for the wind, nature, or others to contaminate it with cooties.

  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups frozen strawberries
  • 6 cups snow, plus more if needed

How to Make Strawberry Snow Ice Cream

It is quite simple; you see. First, you will need to combine the milk, vanilla, sugar, and frozen strawberries in a food processor or high-powered blender. My favorite blender is this Oster Blender. I use it a lot. It was well worth the purchase.ย 

Blending until smooth. Then, in big bowl, pour the strawberry mixture in and gently fold in the snow until well incorporated. Once the combined and desired consistency is met, add your favorite toppings (like chocolate chips) or enjoy immediately. Your freshly made ice cream will be kept in the freezer for a short period.ย

Quick Tips

As the snow melts quickly, it will also melt the same even with the added frozen strawberries. The kids and you will have a limited time eating. Often, I place them in small bowls to serve instead of cones because my kids can’t eat them fast enough before a mess is made.

Less mess is best. This Strawberry Snow ice cream can be placed in the freezer for a short time. The texture will not be the same as when you first made it. It will still have the same taste. When we make this recipe we make just enough for all of us to eat. No need for leftovers.
