Incredible Chore Relief! Get Your Free Chore Magnets Template Now!
When my kiddos head back to school, I always find our schedule gets a little more hectic.
I try to keep our lives as stress-free as possible. Although it is tough, I try to find ways to make our house flow better and get the kids more involved. Everyone, even the littlest, can learn responsibility.
I believe all kids should be learning how to help out around the house. Let’s face the facts, most of us just don’t want to do it, while others do and can not depend on a readable chore chart. I came up with these Easy Chore Magnets to make it fun. Kids love checking off items that they have completed.
In fact, I think we all like to knock items off our to-do list. Productivity feels just amazing.

Chore Magnets Instructions
First, let’s start off by Printing off the chore template printable. The hardest part is deciding which chores you want to include in your magnets. You may want to print multiple sheets! Parent’s choice is a lifesaver!
Get ready to put your feet up and let your kiddos get to work. Print off your Chore Magnet sheet here!
Here is where my OCD checks in. You can certainly hand-cut each piece using a scissor, but I prefer using my paper cutter. It will allow each piece to have nice straight-cut lines. STRAIGHT LINES keep me from going crazy. HA!
Cut around each chore and set aside. See how nice these look.
Gathering your supplies
Gather your items needed for the pod mod portion of this craft. To protect your work surface and to make cleanup a lot easier, it would be beneficial to place newspapers or brown paper bags on your table.
On the flat part of each gem, spread a thin layer of Mod Podge.
Place a chore image face down. At this point, you may be thinking I wished I had smaller fingers. But if you need to grab some tweezers – do it!
Next, seal a top layer of Mod Podge over the image. Then allow to completely dry. This will only take a few hours to fully dry. I would recommend waiting it out. If your glue is not dry, you will run into issues with your magnetic tape.
Then attach the magnets. Magnetic tape is my preferred way to go! You can cut it to size and is strong. Even though the tape is self-adhesive, I like to dab a bit of hot glue on it to ensure it stays on the magnet.
These are handled by our kids daily, so the extra glue really helps to secure them!
Putting Your Chore Magnet System Together
Now how you use these chore magnets will be up to you. You can add a photo of your child to the fridge. As they complete a chore they move the chore magnet next to their name.
OR instead, place the chore magnets by your child’s picture on the fridge and remove them when completed. There are a lot of neat ideas out there on the web.
Here are a few that I found that incorporate magnets. Whatever system you are used to following, it is important to stick with it and follow through. Kids learn by our example. I like to keep it simple and frugal.
After all, doing it with little money for me is a big goal of mine. I try to find savings where I can.
