Mind-Blowing Dollar Store Organizing Tips
I was just in my local Dollar Store the other day and was shocked by how many awesome organizational products they had. My OCD mind was in heaven. This inspired me to create a post with frugal home hacks that will save you time, money, and your sanity all at once
Keeping our homes clean and organized makes life so much easier. You can save so much time and money if you know exactly where everything is, and you don’t waste money repurchasing things that you already had and simply couldn’t find.
You can surprisingly find everything you need from the Dollar Store to keep your home organized well. There are so many amazing organizational tools and ideas to be found at the dollar store. Here is a list of dollar store organizing tips that you need to try!
Ice Cube Tray – Turned Organizer
Do you have earrings or other small items like buttons or sewing accessories that find themselves all over the inside of your drawers? Keep all of those small items corralled by sticking an ice cube tray inside of your tray and placing the small items inside of it. With all the tray compartments, sorting little pieces of jewelry won’t be a hassle anymore.
This would also make a great tray to keep in your husband’s big toolbox. All those random tiny nuts, bolts, and screws will have a home.
Plastic or Wood Crate – Turned into Shelving
Do your kids’ rooms lack shelving or could they use some more to help them keep their toys and books organized? You can create a shelf on the wall in minutes with plastic crates that you can mount to the wall.
Not only can they place items inside of the crates, but they can also set lightweight items like stuffed animals on top of them. You can view this idea in action from Hometalk.
Second Shower Rod – Turned Personal Care Organizer
Is your bathroom overflowing with everyone’s different products and toys? Keep everything neat and organized by adding a second shower rod on the back wall of the shower.
Once the rod is in place, you can add some dollar store baskets so that each person has their own space to stash their stuff.
Shoe Organizer Organization
Shoe organizers can be used to organize so much more than just your shoes. You can use them to organize your cleaning products, toiletries, and even baby clothes or toys if you are living in a home without a lot of space or closet options.
Coat Rack – Turned Coffee Cup Holder
Are your coffee cups taking up too much of your valuable kitchen cabinet space? Not any longer!
Simply hang a coat rack vertically on your kitchen wall and hang your coffee cups there. If you like, you can even paint the coat rack to match your kitchen decor or to give it a pop of color.
Soap Box – Turned into Mini Storage
Chances are, if you have kids, you have crayons, hair ties, and card games all over the place. Pick up a few plastic soapboxes at the dollar store and get all the items neatly put away and labeled. No more searching all over the house for crayons or a ponytail holder!
Coat Hanger, Plus Curtain Rods – Turned DIY Scarf Organizer
Do you find it difficult to keep your scarves hanging neatly and organized? If so, you will love this dollar store hack. All you need is a hanger and some shower curtain rod hooks. Snap the shower curtain hooks around the hanger and Voila!
Now you have a nice way to store all of your scarves. This will free up a lot of space in your closet. The best part of all, you can view all your scarves in one space.
Small Containers – Keeps Drawers Organized
Do you have a make-up drawer or junk drawer that is jumbled beyond all recognition? Not to worry, the dollar store can help!
From small containers that you can use to keep everything separated or even silverware organizers, there is hope for your cluttered drawers so that you find exactly what you are looking for.
Metal Magazine Racks
The dollar store usually has a good selection of metal magazine racks. You can use them for a whole lot more than magazines. Turn one sideway and mount it on the wall for a space to keep your mail. Use them in the kitchen to store your potatoes, onions, and garlic. Just don’t keep your potatoes and onions next to each other.
Need another use for these metal magazine racks? Screw one to the side of your bathroom vanity, or on the inside of the bathroom cabinet. Then add in your small appliances. Like your hairdryer, curling iron, or straightener. Get the tutorial here.
Lastly…
These are just a few of the dollar store organizing tips that you can try around your home. The dollar store is such a great resource for organizing on a budget. Their products will help you to stay organized, making life so much easier!
