Did you know that we celebrated our very first Earth Day movement in 1970? Today, Earth Day is more than just a single day — April 22, 2024. It’s bigger than attending a rally and taking a stand. Let’s make big stuff happen.

April is the perfect time for celebrating nature and the beauty of our planet. Earth Day Activities include picking up trash and garbage, planting trees, cleaning up coral reefs, and planning for a better future for our planet.

Alt National Park Service – Free Seed Packet

You can request a free package of pollinator seeds from Alt National Park Service here. You can choose either Black-Eyed Susans or Butterfly Milkweed seeds.

Clean Up Plastic in Your Neighborhood or Local Park

One of the best ways to connect with the Earth is through cleanups. Go on a walk with a trash bag and help to clean up any plastic that you find. Perhaps you know of a nearby ditch or drainage area around the corner that is polluted with trash! This is a great free event you can do all year round.

Earth-a-Thon Tech Project (virtual)

Democracy Lab is organizing an online Earth-a-Thon event to discuss and inspire others to research, design, and build products that benefit our planet and its people.

EVOS Feel Great Food

Free organic milkshake at all EVOS locations on April 22. The free milkshakes are available in-store only.

Ikea

IKEA usually hosts an Earth Day Celebration, a Sustainable Living Virtual Workshop and a gift card giveaway. Stay tuned to see if they bring these events back in 2024!

Lowe’s Home Improvement – Build a Planter

On April 22, from 10 am to 1 pm, Lowe’s is hosting a free How to Playful Garden Cart Planter. You will have to pre-register for the event, before April 20, here.

Natural Grocers

Natural Grocers will be promoting regenerative living insights and resources related to food, homes, gardens, and yards all month long. 2024 Earth Day Celebration culminates April 20 – 22, with three days of special Earth Day discounts, freebies and sweepstakes.

  • Whether it’s a first-time pledge or renewed, NG will donate $1.00 (up to $25,000) to Beyond Pesticides for every Ladybug Love pledge signed from April 1 – April 30.
  • For every Ladybug Zip Pouch sold from April 20 – 22, NG will donate $2 to Beyond Pesticides.
  • {N}power members who make or renew their pledge from April 1 – 15, will receive $5 off their purchase, April 20 – 22.

  • To enter the contest, customers simply fill out the form in the magazine and drop it off at any NG store by April 27, 2024. A drawing among all entries with the correct number of ladybugs will determine the winner.

Staples is hosting a recycling event on April 22 and 23. You can recycle items like tech (laptops, tablets, etc.), batteries, ink and toner, and writing tools. If you recycle items, you’ll get a coupon for 15% off your purchase of $30+. Plus, you’ll get $10 back in rewards if you recycle a tech item in-store.
