It is not summertime without having a popsicle in your hand. And thereโs nothing like enjoying an ice-cold popsicle after a day of fun in the sun! This summer, you can get creative by making the easiest and most delicious homemade peach lemonade pops.
BONUS! To all the mamas out there โ these are healthier than your average popsicle. These contain down-to-earth ingredients and a lot less sugar. The problem with the store-bought kind is that they typically contain high fructose corn syrup, artificial flavors, and dyes.
Creating popsicles at home is a big checkmark in my book, especially since I have a child who is very sensitive to dyes.
Why You Will Love These Popsicles
- Made from wholesome ingredients – Packed with vitamins and nutrients, they provide a healthy alternative to store-bought frozen treats that often contain artificial flavors and excessive sugars.
- Low calorie – At just 44 calories each, you can eat them completely guilt free.
- Refreshing – These popsicles offer a delightful combination of refreshing flavors that perfectly balance the sweetness of ripe peaches with the tanginess of lemonade. It’s a perfect way to cool off on a hot day!
Ingredients Needed
Please note that a full list of ingredients and a printable version of this recipe is available below.
- Frozen peaches – Sure, you can use fresh peaches, but there is something to be said about using frozen peaches instead. They are more readily available and peeled. Shortcuts are the best.
- Lemon Juice – I like to use one freshly squeezed lemon for this recipe. Nothing beats freshly squeezed lemonade.
- Raw honey – Honey is my favorite sweetener to use in this recipe because it’s natural, imparts a subtle but delicious flavor, and is not too expensive! We tried a batch with maple syrup, and while it was tasty, I don’t prefer popsicles with a maple flavor! Other suggestions are agave, pure cane sugar, or your favorite liquid sweetener!ย
- Water – Yes, you can’t have these popsicles without water. You can use plain old tap water or filtered water. Whatever your preference.
How to Make These Peach Lemonade Pops
STEP ONE: First, you will want to add all ingredients into a blender. Blend on high speed for just a few minutes until the peaches are fully blended.
If you prefer to have chunks of peaches throughout, use the pulse button until you reach your desired consistency.
STEP TWO: Then pour your popsicle mixture into your choice of mold. If needed, add sticks or place mold lids on top to close. Now you are ready to freeze.
STEP THREE: You will want to freeze your pops on an even surface in your freezer to prevent any leaks or spills. Freeze for at least 4-6 hours.
If you have purchased a mold for making your pops, check the directions on the packaging as each contains different fill points and may require more timing.
Other Fruit Substitutions
Peaches are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to choices for homemade popsicles. Using the same ratio as above, you can substitute for any berry.
Strawberry, blueberry, blackberry… and, hey, mix them all for a berry treat. You can also use mango, pineapple, kiwi, banana, peach, or watermelon.
Anything you put in your smoothie in the morning will work well. These would be a great after-workout treat too. Making homemade fruit popsicles is a fun way for kids and adults to experiment in the kitchen.
