This is one of my favorite sales. Time to stock up and spruce up your yard. I just love it when I see this kind of promotion. Because you know that summer is right around the corner. You can even order online and pick this up today at your local store for free!
Please Note: Before you make a special trip to your Lowe’s or Home Depot store, you may want to check your local ad online and/or call your local store to be sure they are indeed offering up bags of mulch at the listed sale price.
How Much Mulch Will I Need
Mulch is available by the bag or in bulk. Bulk mulch is measured in cubic yards. You can calculate the volume of mulch you need by multiplying the area (in square feet) by the depth (fraction of foot, not inches), then dividing by 27. The following table will guide you:

Great question, based on the sales from years past, I have not seen mulch typically go on sale during the month of December. Seasonally, it is not in high demand. The next big sale, will be in the spring of 2024.

I did state, and maybe you missed that part. Participating stores only and there is a noted link that states also to check if your store is participating. The nationwide event doesn’t occur until before memorial day. Hopes that helps.
Not on sale in Raleigh as TJ Gee says. Some sites indicate it won’t go on sale until after Easter.
Hey Bob!!! Thank you for letting us know. My store currently still has it on sale. I live in Upstate NY. And also correct, both stores offer an early spring sale on mulch. I believe I noted that in my post as well. But for some reason, my store is offering a great deal now. Not typical.

Like the other, I’m not seeing the sales prices, on-line or in store, Home Depot or Lowes, like you’re quoting in the article.
I am wondering if it is zip code specific. When I click the link it takes me to my store which shows the sale price at $2, but it also lists it as clearance. They don’t typically offer a national sale until the few weeks leading up to memorial day. I am sorry you are not seeing the same deal like myself.
Why did this pop up in February 2022? NO $2.00 SALE GOING ON.

As per their website, they are offering a clearance sale. You can price match their online sale in store.

Why will Buckhannon WV Lowe’s not honor labor day sale
Mulch 5 for 10?
Sorry, the Lowes memorial day sale is $2.88 a bag this year. The bags are 2 cubic ft vs home depots and 1,5 cubic ft. If you do the math, you are paying $1.33 per cb ft no matter which store you go to.
My local home Depot (Hyannis), only had the Scotts in stock this time around, not the vigoro. I noticed the Scotts this year was only 1.5 cubic feet while the vigoro is still 2 cubic foot bags. Could have sworn the Scotts was also 2 cubic feet in the past.
Did the math and it’s about the same price to get delivered mulch from a local supplier than buy the Scotts. Held off on this sale and am hoping Hyannis will carry vigoro next go around.

I jusr returned from the Shrewsbury Home Depot store and was told that the mulch was not on sale at thid time. Can you tell me when it will be on sale at the Shrewsbury store.
