How to Make This St. Patrick’s Day Craft
STEP ONE: First, you will need to print the Lucky Leprechaun Template and cut out all the pieces.
Just a quick side note: The template pieces can also be colored instead of tracing and cutting colored cardstock.
Trace & Cut Each Piece as follows:
- First, trace and cut the large circle from the skin-colored paper.
- Repeat this trace and cut again method with the large skewed rectangle and rectangle strip from green paper.
- Cut another rectangle strip and LUCKY letters from orange paper.
- Then cut the smallest strip and smallest square from brown paper
- Finally, trace and cut the bigger square from the gold glitter paper.
STEP TWO: Glue the long green strip to the bottom of the skewed green rectangle.
STEP THREE: Next, let’s make the belt. Start by gluing the small brown square to the gold square, then glue it to the long brown strip.
STEP FOUR: Now glue the belt to the hat and attach the hat to the head.
STEP FIVE: Time for the hair. Begin by taking the orange strip and cutting slits down the entire length. Give the fringe a little fluff and glue these under the brim of the hat.
STEP SIX: Now glue the LUCKY letters to the leprechaun’s chin. To keep the beard centered, start with the C first. Gluing it in place to the center of your work.
STEP SEVEN: Lastly, add two googly eyes and the pom-pom nose to make the face. Then draw a smile.
