There is something very special about being able to make your own Cookie Dough Ice Cream at home. You don’t need an ice cream machine to create delicious homemade ice cream.

 This No Churn Ice Cream recipe is so simple. You will want to put the kids to work helping. They will love being able to make their own ice cream and you will enjoy eating it. Heavy whipping cream is a magic ingredient when making no-churn ice cream – the result will be creamy, smooth, and not at all icy.

This no-churn ice cream turns out super creamy and decadent with a delicious vanilla flavor base with chunks of cookie dough ice cream.

Summer, Fall, Winter, or Spring, thereโ€™s no wrong time to devour a couple of scoops of ice cream. Especially Cookie dough ice cream. Now, what are you waiting for?

What is No Churn Ice Cream?

No Churn Ice Cream is an ice cream you can make without using any special tools, such as an ice cream maker. Most homemade ice creams start with an egg custard base that is cooked and tended to with the same care as your new puppy.

This one doesnโ€™t. This No Churn recipe comes from all-natural ingredients.

Ingredients Needed

This no-churn ice cream base is for vanilla ice cream, but there are so many ways to doctor it up to create various flavor combos.ย 

  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 14 oz can of sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 ยพ cup flour
  • 1 cup mini chocolate chips
  • ยฝ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 6 tbsp butter softened
  • ยผ cup milk

In a medium bowl, add 1 cup flour, vanilla extract, sugar, brown sugar, salt, and softened butter. Mix until all ingredients are well combined. 

Add in milk and stir until incorporated. Add in the remaining flour and stir with a wooden spoon.

Finally, once everything is well combined, you can add in your choice of chocolate chips. Believe it or not, we love Aldi’s brand, semi-sweet morsels. Minis chocolate morsels work best for this recipe. 

Cover and refrigerate for 30 min or until dough is easy to roll into balls. Once is chilled enough as many cookie dough balls as desired.

The balls can be tiny like in most ice cream or you can make them a little bigger as I did.ย Cover a sheet pan with parchment paper, place cookie dough balls onto the paper and freeze for an hour.

It may take less than this time. Just keep your eye on it if you are in a hurry to make it.

Once that hour has passed, start on the cream mixture. In a different large bowl, add 2 cups of cold whipping cream and whip until stiff peaks form.

Set aside and in a separate bowl, add sweetened condensed milk and 1/3 C sugar.

Add condensed milk mixture to stiff whipped cream while whipping constantly. Last but not least, fold in the cookie dough and the remaining chocolate chips and pour the mixture into a loaf pan.

Make sure you freeze for at least six hours.

I know it may be hard to wait, but you will want this No Churn Cookie Dough Ice Cream a little on the harder frozen side. It will be well worth the wait. We often make this the day before and keep it in the freezer overnight.ย 

Extra No Churn Base Add-In

Once you have made your base, you can continue following the instructions by adding in cookie dough chunks or making it your own by adding in any of the following.

  • Toasted Coconut and pineapple chunks
  • Fresh Strawberries and mini chocolate chips
  • M&Mโ€™s, toasted peanuts, popcorn, pretzels, and salted caramel
  • Peanut butter & sliced bananas

  6. Next, In a large bowl add in 2 cups cold whipping cream and whip until stiff peaks form. Set aside and in a separate bowl add in sweetened condensed milk and 1/3 cups sugar.
  7. Add condensed milk mixture to stiff whipped cream while whipping constantly.
  8. Fold in the cookie dough and remaining chocolate chips and pour the mixture into a loaf pan.
  9. Freeze for 6+ hours.
